11th Principle of Freedom

The Majority of the People May Alter or Abolish a Government Which has Become Tyrannical.

"...whenever the legislators endeavour to take away and destroy the property of the people, or to reduce them to slavery under arbitrary power, they [the officials of government] put themselves into a state of war with the people, who are thereupon absolved from any further obedience..." (John Locke quoted in The 5000 Year Leap, pg. 148)

"...when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their RIGHT, it is their DUTY, to throw off such government and to provide new guards for their future security." (Declaration of Independence Emphasis Added)

Though our 'right' and 'duty' may be to 'throw off' a tyrannical government, though we may be 'absolved from any further obedience' to such government in our opinion, because we have agreed to be citizens, along with our fellow-citizens, we must do all things in wisdom. It is not in accordance with principles for the minority to rise up in revolt without consent of the majority. Our responsibility, as a minority, lies then in educating the majority until the majority see the 'long train of abuses and usurpations'.

Though revolt of the minority is not a right, does not feel right, I do believe that the minority has the right to remove themselves from a tyrannical situation. This is in accordance to 'Natural Law', or according to inspiration from the Spirit of God which bears witness with my spirit. So, we have our options. I choose to keep educating the majority.
